Remote Scoring

Free

Two phones, two jobs. One phone records on a tripod, the other phone scores from anywhere in the gym, the bleachers, or even from home over the internet.

How to use it
  1. On the camera phone, tap Connect PhonesCamera Phone.
  2. On the controller phone, tap Connect PhonesController Phone → pick the camera from the discovered list.
  3. The controller phone scores; every tap mirrors instantly to the camera and burns into the recorded video.
  4. Out of Wi-Fi range? Pick Host Game Online on the camera and share the join code — the controller can join from anywhere.
Three connection methods. Wi-Fi (same network, fastest), Wi-Fi Direct (no router needed), or Bluetooth (works on a plane). The app tries all three simultaneously and uses whichever lights up first.
👥

Roles

Free

Every person who interacts with a team has a role. The role decides what they can see, edit, post, and get notified about. You set your own role the first time you open the app (and can change it any time in Settings → APP MODE).

Personal roles (per device)

Coach

Default for the people running games. Records, scores, manages teams, posts coach notes, sends notifications. Sees the Home screen tuned for game-day workflow.

Fan

For parents, family, friends. Read-only by default — follows teams, watches streams, gets notifications when followed teams go live or post results. No scoring controls clutter the UI.

Per-team roles

Owner

The person who created the team. Can add/remove managers, transfer ownership, delete the team, change visibility, and approve follower requests.

Manager / Co-coach

Invited by the owner. Can edit roster, schedule games, score and stream on behalf of the team, post coach notes, approve follower requests. Can't delete the team or kick the owner.

Follower

Anyone who taps Follow on a team page. Sees public schedule, live streams, final scores, and coach notes. Gets push notifications for whatever they've opted into.

Visitor

Read-only one-off — someone who opens a team link without signing in. Can claim themselves to a roster entry (linking "Eric Bloomcamp" the user to "Eric Bloomcamp" on the roster) which then upgrades them to a tied player with a "You" badge.

📅

Scheduling

Free

Plan the whole season once, then walk into every game prepped. Scheduled games auto-promote to live broadcasts, auto-trigger reminders to followers, and auto-attach video to the right schedule entry when the game ends.

🔔

Notifications

Free

Every notification is opt-in per follower and per team. ScoreFrame never spams — followers see exactly what they signed up for, with a one-tap mute per team and a global mute in Settings.

Custom Game Pages

Free

Every saved game gets its own permanent web page at scoreframe.app/game. Embedded YouTube player at the top so people can watch the recap any time, full scoreboard, per-player stats, coach notes for that game, and a "← Back to schedule" link if it was part of a tournament or season.

What lands on the page
Game pages are the long-term record. Players can show their grandparents the dunk three years later, college recruiters can see the highlight + the full game, and the team's history doesn't depend on anyone keeping the app installed.
📺

Score Only Mode

Free

Use the phone as a standalone scoreboard — no recording, no battery drain from the camera. Toggle it on and the screen shows the giant scoreboard overlay; tap to score; tap the toggle again to go back to recording mode.

Useful when another phone (or a DSLR) is doing the recording, when you're scoring for the league, or when you just want a big readable scoreboard on a courtside table.

⚡ Better With Pro

Available free with limits, fully unlocked on Pro.

📡

Live Streaming

Free · 10 min limit Pro · Unlimited

Push the game to YouTube Live straight from the phone — scoreboard burned in, family watching from anywhere, no extra hardware. One tap creates the broadcast, uploads a custom ScoreFrame thumbnail, and starts pushing video.

How to use it
  1. Open the drawer → Go Live.
  2. Sign in to YouTube on the first run (one tap, uses your existing Google account).
  3. Set the broadcast title (auto-suggested from team names + sport) and privacy: Unlisted, Public, or Private.
  4. Tap Go Live. The pill at the top of the screen turns red with a running uptime.
  5. Stop streaming any time from the same menu; the recording goes to your YouTube channel as a normal video.
Quality presets (Pro)

If the network can't sustain the chosen rate, adaptive bitrate steps it down silently so the stream stays live instead of cutting out. You'll see a toast when the auto-adjust kicks in.

In-Game Highlights

Free · 3 per game Pro · Unlimited

Tap the star during a regular recording to mark a great moment. When the game ends, ScoreFrame extracts the last 5/10/20 seconds (your pick in Settings) into its own clip — keeping the full game AND a separate set of share-ready highlights.

How it differs from Buffer Mode

Highlights run on top of a normal full-game recording — you get both the full match AND the clipped highlights. Buffer mode skips the full match entirely and saves only the highlights.

🎨

Custom Team Branding

Free · 16 colors Pro · Custom colors, logos & names

Make the scoreboard look like your team's scoreboard. Pick from 16 preset colors free; Pro unlocks the full HSV color picker, secondary team colors, custom team names (free is locked to "Home"/"Away"), and per-team logos rendered over the recorded video.

How to use it
  1. Drawer → My Teams & Players.
  2. Tap a team (or + to create one). Pick primary + secondary color from the palette or the wheel.
  3. Add a logo: tap the logo card → pick from your photo library. Toggle "Show on video" to burn it into recordings.
  4. Set the roster — players you create here track stats across every game they play in.
🌐

Team Sharing

Free

Give every player's family a single page that shows your schedule, roster, past games, career stats, coach notes, and live streams. Lives at scoreframe.app/team — no sign-up required to view, optional sign-up to follow.

How to share a team
  1. Open a team in My Teams & PlayersShare Team.
  2. Get an 8-character team code + a sharable URL.
  3. Pick visibility: Public (anyone), Invite-only (search but request approval), or Private (link only).
  4. Followers tap "Follow" on the web page or in the app to get notifications when a game goes live, when a final score is posted, or when a coach drops a note.
Pre-2026-06 this was branded "Team Hubs" inside the app. Same feature — just renamed to "Team Sharing" so the name actually says what it does.
📊

Full Stat Tracking for Players

Free · Per game Pro · Career view

Every tap during scoring attributes to a player. Career stats accumulate across every game that player appears in — same player across multiple teams, multiple seasons, multiple years. Player pages show career totals, per-game logs, leaderboards.

What's tracked, per sport
How attribution works
  1. Add players to a team's roster in My Teams & Players.
  2. When you score during a game, the tap is attributed to whoever's currently selected (or to the active batter / lineup position for baseball).
  3. At End Game, stats roll up into the player's career profile, the team's season totals, and the per-game box score on the game page.
  4. Career stats survive team changes — a player who switches clubs keeps their career line; you can see their full history across every team they've played for.
🎬

Custom Video Quality & Camera Controls

Free · Basics Pro · Advanced

ScoreFrame uses the same camera APIs every pro video app uses — and exposes the controls. Free users get sensible defaults that work indoors and out; Pro unlocks the full set so you can dial in for tricky lighting, contrast, or motion.

Resolution + frame rate
Camera adjustments
Smart defaults out of the box. Continuous-video autofocus, FAST noise reduction, anti-banding for fluorescent gym lights, OIS + EIS where available. You don't need to touch any of this for the recording to look good — Pro is for when you want to fine-tune.

★ Pro Only

Available only with a Pro subscription.

Buffer Mode

Pro

Save only the good plays. Buffer mode keeps the last minute of footage rolling in memory — when something amazing happens, tap the star and the previous 5/10/20/30/60 seconds get saved as a highlight clip. No giant game-length video, no post-editing.

Why it's different from regular recording

Regular recording saves the whole game (often 1–2 GB per quarter). Buffer mode saves only the moments you mark. Pick a 30-second window after the play happens — perfect for posting individual highlights without the bloat.

How to use it
  1. From the camera screen, tap the ⭐ Buffer button (next to the red Record button).
  2. The phone starts recording silently into a rolling 60-second buffer. The on-screen indicator turns orange.
  3. When something great happens, tap the big button. Pick how far back to capture (5, 10, 20, 30, or 60 seconds).
  4. The clip saves to your Photos library and shows up on the game card in the app. Buffer keeps rolling — capture as many highlights as you want.
  5. Tap the stop button when you're done. The 60-second working buffer is discarded; only your captured highlights stick around.
When to pick it. Tournaments where you only want the winning shots. Practice sessions where 90% is drills. Long matches where you don't want a 4 GB video. Anything where "the good parts" matter more than the full timeline.
🖥️

Fullscreen Mode

Pro

Hide the scoring panel behind a pull-tab and let the video fill the whole screen. The scoring drawer slides out from the right when you need it; recording controls float at the bottom on demand.

How to use it
  1. Tap the diagonal-arrow icon in the bottom-right corner of the video preview.
  2. The scoring panel slides away. The video now fills the screen.
  3. Tap the right-side pull-tab (or swipe in from the right) to slide the scoring panel back when you need to score.
  4. Tap the collapse arrow to return to the split view.
📋

Coach Notes

Pro

Post a note from the game card and every follower and approved subscriber gets a push notification AND an email. Use it for "great game everyone, see you at practice Tuesday", "MVP was Sarah for the diving save", or "lineup for Saturday is on the team page".

How to use it
  1. Open any game in your team's history (or open the Coach Notes section on a team page).
  2. Tap + Post Coach Note.
  3. Write your message. There's no character cap — write a paragraph if you want.
  4. Tap Post. Followers + subscribers get a push and an email instantly. The note renders on the game's public page and on the team's coach-notes card.
  5. Revoke any time. Revoked notes show as "[Note removed by owner]" so the conversation thread stays coherent.
Free users see the option on every game card so it's discoverable; tapping the locked button opens the upgrade screen so they know exactly what they're paying for.
📓

Full Baseball / Softball Scorebook

Pro

A real digital scorebook for baseball and softball — at-bat by at-bat tracking with pitch counts, fielding plays, base advancements, defensive positions, and a multi-page PDF export at the end that looks like a hand-kept book.

What it tracks per at-bat
The exported PDF includes a box score, both team scoresheets with diamond basepath notation, a pitcher summary, and a play-by-play log. Drop it in the team's Google Drive or email it to the coach.
🎛️

External Bluetooth Buttons

Pro

Any Bluetooth device with buttons — a $10 selfie remote, a presentation clicker, a media remote, a Bluetooth keyboard — can drive recording and zoom without touching the phone. Set it up once and the buttons just work.

What you can map
How to set it up
  1. Pair your Bluetooth device with iPhone / Android the normal way (Settings → Bluetooth).
  2. In ScoreFrame, open Settings → External Buttons.
  3. Tap Record Button → "Press the button now" → press whichever button you want to use. The app records the device name + key code.
  4. Tap Zoom Buttons → press zoom-in, then zoom-out, in that order.
  5. Flip the on-screen Ext toggle in the recording bar to enable the buttons.
Matches on device name only — cheap remotes alternate key codes on every connection, but the device name stays stable. Works with the phone tucked into a tripod mount across the gym.
🚫

Ad-Free & No Watermark

Pro

Pro removes the small "ScoreFrame.app" watermark from the bottom-left of recorded videos AND removes all interstitial / banner ads inside the app. The recording you share looks like yours, not ours.

🎆 Experimental

Off by default. Toggle in Settings → Experimental.

🎆

Fun Effects on Scoring

Free Experimental · Off by default

Tap a score, see a celebration burned right into the video. Confetti on a three-pointer, fireworks on a touchdown, pins exploding on a bowling strike, a star burst on an ace. Optional, off by default, all toggleable per sport per event in Settings → Experimental.

What's available, per sport
How to turn them on
  1. Open Settings → Experimental.
  2. Toggle the per-sport per-event row you want (e.g. "Football → Touchdown fireworks").
  3. Score during a game. The animation burns into the recorded video and into the live stream, so viewers see it too.
Tasteful for some teams (kids' youth leagues, end-of-season highlight reels). Distracting for others (high school varsity, scouting tape). Off by default — turn on only the ones you want.
